The World is Watching Egypt's President Morsi's Democratic Processes

Last week it was widely reported that Egypt's President Mohamed Morsi was an essential element in brokering a cease-fire between Gaza and Israel.  Yet within days of that victory and display of diplomacy, President Morsi was reported to take an unprecedented grab for power by making a number of decrees that would go directly against the concept of a "democratic" government.  One of the most troubling decrees was that there would be no judicial review of his decisions until a new Parliament was elected.

Ongoing Human Tragedy in Syria

CNN reports on a "Street of Death" in Syria, which is a highway where mass killings have been occuring for several months, resulting in a ghost town.  Besides the reported killings, there have been reports by Human Rights Watch of several detention centers throughout Syria where prisoners are being tortured.
